Why tracing activities are important

Tracing activities stimulate child’s eye - hand coordination and visual-motor integration. When children follow dotted lines or other kind of lines with pencils or with another drawing tools, they simultaneously follow and compare their evolving lines with original ones. This process strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Tracing activities stimulate acquisition of basic graphomotor, fine-motor and pre-writing skills and competences which later play important role in development of writing and other important skills.

Template squares differ in size. In some activities dotted squares are accompanied with outer or inner squares intended to help children while drawing.
