Why finishing shapes activities are important

​

Finishing unfinished shapes stimulate child’s eye - hand coordination. When children draw missing parts of printed shapes, they simultaneously compare their lines with drawings of complete shapes. This evaluation is followed by hand and fingers micro-movements to correct the direction of the line. The whole process strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Task difficulty increase throughout the workbook in three ways:

• with increasing complexity of shapes (from circle to more complex shapes),

• with increasing length of missing parts in shapes.
